Our Day Support Specialist have a starting hourly rate of $20 an hour.

5 hours weekly.
Some of the Essential Duties:
Teach health, hygiene, cooking, nutrition, exercise, money management, daily and independent living skills, relationships, safety drills, emergency skills, mobility training, socialization, communication, functional academics, budgeting, basic job skills.
Individual and group formats, on and off-site.
Provides physical assistance/ support to clients as needed including assistance in toileting, eating, changing and personal hygiene/ bathing.
Provides individual and group training on basic social, physical, communication, mobility, educational, program/community safety skills.
Administers and monitor medication, side effects and individuals' wellbeing.
Assist and document seizure and medical events / needs.
Documents significant events; emergencies, behavioral, and medical.
Communicates individual's issues and concerns with interdisciplinary treatment team.
Maintains individual records.
Daily documentation of supports and skill building activities in the individuals person centered plan.
Track, analyze and prepare reports/reviews on progress or regression towards goals.
Provides transportation to program site, job site, and volunteer opportunities and on social community outings.
Must be able to meet driving requirements.
Required
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities, or An Associate degree in human services or related field Must pass employment background checks for driving, education, criminal and drug screening.
Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
Knowledge and Skills:
General knowledge of basic teaching techniques and vocational training techniques, including methods of reinforcement and prompting, General knowledge of community resources available for clients, General knowledge of behavior management and crisis intervention, Ability to work with intellectually disabled, elderly and other special population clients,.
Ability to practice sound hygiene and sanitation techniques, Ability to communicate ideas effectively both orally and in writing, Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates, and business representatives.
Knowledge of MS Office, to include Work and Excel Special Requirements:
Valid Virginia driver's license with acceptable record.
Attend trainings and maintain certifications as required by Agency and regulatory guidelines, to include but not limited to, medication administration, CPR/ First Aid/ AED, MANDT Employment with RRCS is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
